Forming practical skills of students in the course «Phytology»

Abstract

The article discusses the didactic potential of the «phytology» normative discipline in shaping the practical skills of students in the specialty «Human Health», with particular attention being paid to the selection of the educational content of this course, its substantive saturation. For this purpose, the development of laboratory work on the theme «Plants with antitumor action» is presented. Also the paper substantiates experimentally the effectiveness of the use of a biological experiment in carrying out laboratory work in order to increase the level of valeological training of students of the specialty «Human Health» in the course «Phytology» in comparison with the traditional lecture method of training. According to the results of the pedagogical experiment, the use of the laboratory method developed by us in the study of students of the specialty «Human Health» on the topic «Plants with antitumor activity» significantly reduces the number of students with a low level of knowledge, increases the number of students with an average and high level of educational achievements. It was demonstrated that the level of student learning, which was calculated using the coefficient A. A. Kiverlyag, higher in the group where the laboratory work was applied.

In the article have been discussed the feasibility of using a number of plant objects with onco-protective properties, which are successful in developing practical skills for students of the above-mentioned specialty. These plant objects include Amrosia artemisifolia, Chelidonium majus, Vinca minor, Viscum album. According to the results of the study, the cytostatic activity of the above plants can be represented by the following series in the order of reduction: Chelidonium majus is large, Amrosia artemisifolia, Vinca minor, Viscum album.
